Jeff Bezo's The Burning Season

It’s interesting to observe the Jeffrey Bezo climate change metaphors at work in his new book, The Burning Season. The title refers to the title of a recent book by the same author. In The Burning Season, Bezo explains that global warming isn’t just about environmental issues anymore. The disaster that is being experienced today is also the result of socio-economic dislocations. Bezo claims to have noticed changes in attitudes of people all over the world and these changes are affecting not only the present but even the future of humanity.

What is changing? Everything. And it’s all your fault. The premise of the story is that humans aren’t immune from their own actions and in fact often exacerbate problems that they should be trying to avoid.

  • In the case of global warming, the primary reason behind the disaster is selfishness – we’ve become too dependent on technology that has been created for our own destruction.
  • For example, did you know that more deer are being shot every year? This is because their natural habitats are being destroyed at an alarming rate.

At the same time, some deer are being raised in huge numbers in meat pens to control the over-population. As for other animals, the earth’s fragile ecosystem is no longer capable of shielding them from becoming endangered. These creatures are threatened with extermination, if something is not done to save them.

The writer does not point out the irony that these deer are indirectly causing the extinction of millions of birds. Or that they are poisoning the water they need to live on. How ironic is that? The irony that Bezo exposes is usually lost on readers who easily get fed on political rhetoric. The real issue at hand is the impact of human actions on the environment.

One scene from the book is disturbing. In a section called “The Drowned Garden,” Bezo describes how a group of reindeer was raising the reindeer baby chicks that will grow up into adult animals on land which has been devastated by a massive earthquake.

The mother reindeer could no longer care for the babies, so she simply took them to a cliff to drown. A local shepherd saw the scene and alerted the authorities. What a horrible scene!

What is even more disturbing is the fact that this scene took place just a few months ago. Thus, upon arriving on the scene, the authorities discovered a fully grown adult reindeer and two young ones. In all likelihood, the mother reindeer had been in a stable just a few miles away when the earthquake occurred. Thankfully, none of the wildlife was hurt. Sadly, it is too late to save any other animals.

The book also features some very graphic descriptions of animal abuse. One mother goose was gang-raped by her husband. Afterward, the husband crowed like a lunatic and went ahead and gang-raped another geese.

As the author points out, the problem with The Bezo Climate Change Solution is that it is fiction. It’s impossible to guarantee what will happen if humans fail to act sensibly about global warming. However, there is plenty of evidence indicating that the problems we are facing today are real and we must act now. If not, the future of life on earth looks bleak.

That said, The Bezo Climate Change Solution does offer some great recommendations for concerned individuals. For example, the animals should not be released into areas where they will be exposed to too much human activity. It’s also important to build more animal shelters and care facilities. Some areas are particularly prone to poaching so the owners of such animals need to do whatever they can to protect them. This involves using sound animal deterrents and making sure that their surroundings are safe enough for them to live in. A similar suggestion is made for predators: make sure they don’t wander into the area.

Another recommendation concerns how humans should behave around the animals. As mentioned earlier, the animals shouldn’t be put in cages. Instead, they should be kept in pens where they can get outside to have some space. Owners also need to train the animals to do simple tricks that will entertain the humans. For example, the squirrel can be trained to cluck like a chicken.

A final thought deals with the use of electric fences. The theory behind this is that a dog, if given enough time, will learn to avoid collars and other such devices. However, the Bezo Climate Change Solution offers an interesting twist: the animals can be taught not to want to be attached at all to electric cords. In effect, these devices are subliminal messages in disguise. In fact, the owners won’t even realize that their pets have been ‘trained’ in this way.

An Introduction to Climate Change and Global Warming

Climate change is one of the most discussed and prioritized environmental issues today. It is a problem that could potentially lead to extreme and potentially disastrous climate changes. What exactly is climate change? Global climate change is the changes in the earth’s climate over long periods of time. It includes both global warming caused by human activity and the resulting global shifts in climate patterns, with potentially catastrophic results.

Climatic change is also known as global warming. The rise of the planet Venus in and then again in 2021, causing an elated state for the planet Earth, and consequently impacting our climate. The other major effect of climate change is the ocean acidification. Acidification can result in the near death of certain forms of marine life, such as coral reefs. This could disrupt food chains and disrupt human societies around the world, causing conflict and even wars.

One of the effects of climate change that most people think about is rising temperatures. Temperature increases over time can affect our natural environment. Places that are currently experiencing cold seasons may experience warmer seasons in the future. In the northern hemisphere, a reversal of the earth’s orbit may cause areas that used to be too cold to be warmed too rapidly, which can result in regions with new ice formations and, in some cases, new icebergs.

Changes in wind patterns, precipitation and cloud cover could also affect global warming and climate change. A change in wind direction can increase the amount of precipitation in areas that would not normally experience heavy rainfall or snow. A change in cloud cover can increase the amount of sunlight, which in turn can cause a warming effect. Although scientists do not agree on the exact relationship between climate change and global warming, it is possible that they are interrelated. Some scientists believe that global warming is a product of climate change.

  • Changes in ocean currents may also lead to climate change. Evidence has shown that certain areas of the Pacific Ocean have experienced a greater amount of climate change than others.
  • Areas closer to the equator have experienced less climate change, while those further inland have experienced rapid climate change. Researchers have also noticed a slowdown in the rate of sea ice growth in some areas around the globe, which may lead to a reduction in ice melting.

One of the biggest concerns about climate change and global warming is that rapid climate change can be dangerous to human life. The changing climate can lead to longer coastal delays, which in turn can lead to higher costs for travel. Extreme weather events, such as hurricanes and tornadoes can have devastating effects on infrastructure. And changing precipitation patterns can lead to more flooding in areas that are already prone to flooding.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate change, an international scientific body, has warned, “Human civilisation is already stressed at its maximum”, with research indicating that human activities are the main cause of global warming. A changing climate could have widespread effects on human societies and could result in widespread poverty and hunger. While there is no sure way to cope with the impact of climate change, adaptation strategies have been created to help countries, business and communities deal with the impact. Adaptation strategies include: changing behaviour and improving infrastructure to help cope with climate change; increased use of renewable energy; and decreased use of traditional fuels and increased use of clean energy.

Some adaptation strategies are being developed by governments, local communities and companies. In developing country, adaptation plans are often developed by the community itself through the means of participatory action. Simultaneously, there are large-scale projects aimed at creating an infrastructure that can cope with climate change.

These include: construction of greenhouses and farms to increase production of vegetables and fruit; and reforestation projects to improve soil and create habitat for animals and plants. The World Wildlife Fund has been a leading advocate of natural resource adaptation and works to protect and conserve nature.
